Add a widget
- Touch and hold an empty spot on the Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
- Tap Edit, then Add Widget.
- Search for Widgetto, pick a widget and a size, then tap Add Widget.
Quickest way: touch and hold Widgetto’s icon, then tap a widget size. The icon turns into the clock.
To choose what a widget shows (a countdown, an album, a collection or a city), touch and hold it and tap Edit Widget.
Lock Screen, StandBy and CarPlay
- Lock Screen: touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then tap the area under the clock and add a Widgetto widget.
- StandBy: charge your iPhone on its side while it’s locked, touch and hold a widget, tap +, and add a Widgetto widget.
- CarPlay: on your iPhone, open Settings › General › CarPlay, choose your car, tap Widgets, then Add Widgets.
If something looks off
- A widget is behind. iOS refreshes widgets on its own schedule, and holds them back in Low Power Mode. Opening Widgetto refreshes them all at once.
- A widget is blank. Remove the widget and add it again. If it stays blank, restart your iPhone.
- Everything is one colour. Your Home Screen is set to Tinted or Clear, which draws every widget in one colour on glass. Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Customize, and choose Light or Dark to see the colours again.
- StandBy turns red at night. In the dark, StandBy shows everything in red. To keep the colours, turn Night Mode off in Settings › StandBy.
- Hide the names under widgets. Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Customize, and choose Large.
